Hello

My name is Jo Byers

I am a certified Safe & Together™ and Shark Cage® Facilitator with over a decade of experience in the community services sector, focusing on family violence, working across both mainstream and Aboriginal-specific organisations. My work centres on delivering professional and community training that strengthens responses to family violence, supports healing from trauma, and empowers both practitioners and clients.

With qualifications in Family Therapy and Childhood Developmental Trauma, I bring a strong therapeutic foundation to my work. My training programs are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and designed to support sustainable, practical change across systems and communities.

For the past five years, I have also worked as a teacher of adult learning at the Diploma level, bringing a depth of experience to my training delivery. This has further enhanced my ability to engage diverse learners and support meaningful, applied learning outcomes.

In addition to my training delivery, I am a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide. I integrate nature-based practices into wellbeing work for individuals, small groups, and corporate teams—supporting restoration, regulation, and reconnection.

Whether you're seeking professional development, empowerment workshops, or tailored wellbeing programs, I bring a holistic, person-centred approach grounded in evidence, compassion, and practical impact.

Sol Synergy would like to acknowledge the GunaiKurnai people from the Bidwelli, Kroatungolung, Brabrolung, Briakolung and Bratauglung clans as the First Peoples and Custodians of this land and pay our respect to the elders past, present and emerging for they hold the memories, traditions, culture and hopes of the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island peoples of this country.

Their timeless care and connection to land, sea, sky, culture and community offers us this opportunity to connect with nature.

Sol Synergy is committed to walking alongside the GunaiKurnai people who care for the land, sea, culture and community to promote resilience, wellbeing and connection.
