About the event

Beyond the Surface

Understanding Risk, Patterns & Safety

A Practical 4-Hour Training for Professionals Responding to Family Violence

Family violence is rarely about a single incident.

The greatest risks are often found in the patterns beneath the surface — patterns of coercive control, intimidation, fear, isolation, and cumulative harm that impact children, parenting, wellbeing and family functioning over time.

Beyond the Surface: Understanding Risk, Patterns & Safety is a practical, evidence-informed training designed to strengthen practitioners’ understanding of coercive control and improve risk assessment, safety planning and collaborative responses.

Sol Synergy would like to acknowledge the GunaiKurnai people from the Bidwelli, Kroatungolung, Brabrolung, Briakolung and Bratauglung clans as the First Peoples and Custodians of this land on which we are based and to extend that acknowledgement to all First Nations peoples across the lands on which training is delivered and pay our respect to the elders past, present and emerging for they hold the memories, traditions, culture and hopes of the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island peoples of this country.

Their timeless care and connection to land, sea, sky, culture and community offers us this opportunity to connect with nature.

Sol Synergy is committed to walking alongside the GunaiKurnai people and all First Nations people who care for the land, sea, culture and community to promote resilience, wellbeing and connection.
